Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your ToneMate account and the data attached to it, what is removed, and what is kept. It applies whether you use ToneMate as a guest or with an account.
Delete from inside the app
- Open ToneMate and go to Profile.
- Choose Delete account. The screen lists what you are about to lose, including how many wardrobe items, saved looks, and skin analyses you have.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then choose Permanently delete my account.
Deletion happens immediately. There is no waiting period, no deactivated state, and no way to undo it — we cannot restore an account or its contents once this finishes.
If you no longer have the app
You do not need to reinstall ToneMate to be deleted. Email support@tonemate.co from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. If you signed in with Apple or Google, use the address you signed in with. We may need to confirm that the account is yours before we act, and we will delete it as soon as we can once we have.
What is deleted
Everything below is erased outright, not deactivated:
- Your login and account record, including your email address, display name, age range, and gender if you gave one.
- Your skin analysis results: your season, undertone, and color palette.
- Your wardrobe: every clothing item, its photo, and the details generated from it.
- Your saved outfits.
- Your saved location, if you granted location permission.
- Every file stored for you in our image storage, in both the temporary analysis area and the wardrobe area.
Your face photos are already gone before this point. A face photo is deleted the moment its analysis finishes, whether the analysis succeeded or failed, so in normal use there is nothing left to erase.
What is kept, and why
Three things outlive the account. None of them can be used to identify you afterwards.
- Consent records — which version of the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use was accepted, and when. The link to you is removed, leaving a dated record with no account attached. We keep these to be able to show that consent was properly obtained.
- Subscription events — that a subscription started, renewed, or ended. The link to you is removed the same way. We keep these for billing and accounting.
- A device marker used for the free guest allowance — a one-way hash of a device identifier, plus a count of how many free scans that device has used. It is not linked to your identity and it does not survive as part of your account, because it never belonged to your account in the first place.
One consequence is worth stating plainly: because that device marker stays, a device that has been used with a ToneMate account cannot start a new free guest session afterwards, even after the app is deleted and reinstalled. The free allowance is granted per device, once. This is deliberate — otherwise deleting an account would be a way to collect free scans indefinitely.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. ToneMate subscriptions are sold and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and only the store can stop the billing. If you delete your account while a subscription is still active, the store will keep charging you, and you will no longer have an account through which to notice it.
Cancel first, then delete:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → ToneMate → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → ToneMate → Cancel.
Cancelling stops the next renewal; your paid period runs to its end. Refunds are handled by the store you bought the subscription from, under that store's own terms, and deleting your account does not itself entitle you to one.
